Prof. Shelly Zieroth is Professor of internal medicine at the University of Manitoba, Director of the Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Clinics at St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Canada, and Head of the Medical Heart Failure Program for Cardiac Sciences Manitoba.
She attended medical school at the University of Manitoba and went on to train in internal medicine and cardiology at the same center. She completed her postdoctoral clinical fellowship, specializing in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplant at Toronto General Hospital. Her area of research focuses on the efficacy of new treatments in heart failure, including food-derived bioactives.
She is involved in several heart failure clinical trials as PI, National Lead or Executive Committee Member. She also serves as Co-Chair of Canada’s largest annual heart failure meeting, HF Update and serves as Scientific Planning Committee Chair for the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress hosted by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society.
