Mustafa Arici

Professor Mustafa Arici is Professor of Medicine (Nephrology) at Hacettepe University,Turkey. He is a member of the Science Academy of Turkey, Executive Committee Member of Kidney Disease: Improving Global Outcomes, and Registry Committee Member of European Renal Association – European Dialysis and Transplant at ion Association. He undertook his undergraduate and postgraduate educations in Faculty of Medicine, Hacettepe University. He was awarded a training grant from ISN and studied in the field of proteinuria and renal fibrosis for two years in the Department of Nephrology, University of Leicester, UK as an ISN fellow. His main research interests are concentrated on chronic kidney disease (CKD) and hypertension, with a special focus on mechanisms involved in progression of kidney disease, albuminuria and fibrosis, cardiovascular risks and complications in CKD and dialysis, epidemiology of hypertension and cardiorenal risks of sodium consumption, fluid and electrolyte disorders. He serves as Theme Editor for Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation and as an associate editor of BANTAO Journal. He is an editorial board member of Kidney Research and Clinical Practice, European Journal of Internal Medicine, Internal and Emergency Medicine, and Kidney and Blood Pressure Research. He is the editor of the book Management of Chronic Kidney Disease: A Clinician’s Guide published by Springer and a co-editor of Oxford Desk Reference in Nephrology (2nd edition, 2021). His publications received more than 4000 citations and currently his (h)-index is 29. He regularly reviews papers for many nephrology journals.
