Manish Sood

Prof. Manish Sood is Associate Professor of Medicine and Chairman of Prevention of Kidney Disease at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. He is also a Scientist at Ottawa Hospital Research Institute and is a Physician at Ottawa Hospital.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Carleton and Lancaster University, which was followed by medical school, internal medicine, and nephrology residency training at the University of Toronto. He began his career as a clinical nephrologist at the St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba where he developed an interest in research and epidemiology, going on to complete his MSc in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa in 2017.

He is Deputy Editor-in-Chief and founder of the Canadian Journal of Kidney Health and Disease, holds the Jindal Research Chair for the Prevention of Kidney Disease and is an active participant in the international nephrology (KDIGO) guidelines. He has authored over 200 research papers, multiple book chapters, and has given over 50 invited lectures on anticoagulation, pharmaco-epidemiology, and adverse outcomes in patients with kidney disease using big data.
