Andrew Dauber, M.D, M.Sc., is the chief of endocrinology at Children’s National Hospital, USA. As a paediatric endocrinologist, Dr Dauber works in all areas of paediatric endocrinology, but specialises in studying and treating growth disorders. Dr Dauber has published more than 65 studies and regularly speaks at international paediatric endocrinology conferences, discussing a variety of topics, including clinical clues to identify rare genetic growth conditions, genetic factors that influence height and the timing of puberty, as well as novel genetic disorders that he has helped identify. He is the recipient of the 2020 Richard E. Weitzman Outstanding Early Career Investigator Award from the Endocrine Society for successfully applying innovative genetic technologies to paediatric endocrinology. With a medical degree and a Master’s of Medical Sciences in Clinical Investigation from Harvard Medical School, USA, Dr Dauber finds it natural to merge academic research with its clinical counterparts to accelerate cutting-edge treatment and multidisciplinary care. He is currently working with paediatric health centres to integrate genomics into patient registries and electronic health records, harnessing large data sets, including whole-exome sequences, to help clinicians identify and treat high-risk patients.
